METEOR Youth Voluntary Club
Meteor Youth Voluntary Club aims to serve others by sharing our time and language abilities. We believe that students need to be conscious of social issues and they can have power to affect the local community and even the world. Meteor Youth Voluntary Club provides students an opportunity to share what they've learned with others. We strive to bring a change in the lives of others and to the world through diverse volunteer projects.

What does 'METEOR' mean?
Meteor, also known as a shooting star or a near-death star, flashes its last shiniest light and falls down towards us. It is a disappearing star. However,making wishes looking at a falling meteor in the sky has been a long tradition for people around the world, and thus 'Meteor' symbolizes one’s hopes and dreams. Just like a real meteor, Meteor Youth Voluntary Club aims to help others achieve their goals and dreams thorough diverse volunteer activities.
History
In 2007, Jungmin Lee, realized the need to eliminate educational inequity. She started the organization with peer high school students by visiting local childcare centers and teaching children English for free. Also, METEOR members joined diverse volunteer activites every month to be aware of what's going on in the community and to give a hand to those in need of help.
In 2009, we decided to expand our efforts to cultural exchange and international education recognizing the need to nurture future leaders who can effectively lead global relationships of culture, people and economic activity. Starting from 2010, we've provided free Seoul tour service for foreigners.
In the near future, we expect to provide the underprivileged youth opportunity to learn and grow through cultural exchange.
